​Yerevan Open; the Group of Leaders Shows Up

Round 3 of Yerevan Open international chess tournament took place at Chess Academy of Armenia. On top boards we mainly saw clash of GMs and high rated IMs. On the first board IM Arman Mikayelyan (has 3 GM norms) outplayed GM Vladimir Onishuk, with black pieces. They were GM playing against GM on 2nd, 3rd and 4th boards; GM Hayrapetyan made a draw against GM Petrosian, GM Babujian drew against GM Andriasyan and GM Pashikyan shared a point with GM Nalbandyan.

The 3rd round was victorious for GM Aleksandrov, GM Grigoryan, IM Tabatabei, GM Kislinsky, GM Gabrielian and GM Minasian. The above mentioned 6 players, together with IM Mikaelyan are leading the table; they got 3 points apiece. 22 players got 2.5 points.

The top games of round 4 are;
1st board GM Kislinsky – GM Aleksandrov
2nd board GM Grigoryan – GM Gabrielyan
3rd board IM Mikaelyan – IM Tabatabei

However the most interesting game of the round will be played on board 4, where two time Olympic Champions Artashes Minasian and Tigran Petrosian L. will face each other.
