Round 7 of Yerevan Open international chess tournament was held today at Chess Academy of Armenia. In this round GM Karen Grigoryan defeated GM Harnt Melkumayn who is the first seed of the tournament. IM Arman Mikaelyan took victory over GM Ivan Rozum. Due to this victory Arman’s live rating became 2500 and in the 88^th FIDE Congress he will be granted the title of GM. An important victories were gained by Robert Hovhannisyan, Hovhannes Gabuzyan, Oleg Korneev and Amin Tabatabei.

After the 7^th round Arman Mikaelyan and Karen Grigoryan are leading the table with 6 points. A big group of 8 chess players is closely trailing the leaders.
